Session 1
How to use Google Drive (Beginners)
  • How does Drive work?
  • Creating/sharing documents
  • Upload an existing file/folder
  • Using/sharing folders
  • Launchpad for Google Apps
  • Inserting images,tables etc

This session is for anyone who is starting their journey into Google Drive.  If you think Google is just for ‘searching’ then this is the session for you! It will start from the beginning.

Session 2
Google Drive Intermediate
  • A Google adventure through Slides, Sheets and Forms
This session will suit anyone that has a good grasp with their Drive, uses and understands Docs and is looking for the “what next” in the Google Apps for Education Domain.

Intro to Personal Learning Network’s (PLN’s)
  • Virtual Learning Network (VLN)
  • Twitter
  • Google+
  • Google Hangouts
  • Facebook

Need help with a topic or finding resources to support your students? PLN’s are a fantastic way to network with other teachers in your town, city, country or the world! You can guarantee that someone, somewhere has already taught the subject or done the research. Why reinvent the wheel, get yourself a PLN and save time by sharing!

Session 4
Collaborative Sharing Spaces
  • Blogging to engage learners and Whānau
  • Google Sites for collaboration and effective communication.

Educators know that students write better when they have a real audience, not just a teacher with a red pen.  With the power of the internet and Blogger, students can engage with audiences on a global scale.  Blogging can be a powerful way to share learning with family and whānau and for children to learn and engage in Digital Literacy safely and with real purpose.
